Dave’s Famous Turkey Meat Loaf

Makes 6 Servings
Ingredients
– 2 lbs of ground Turkey
– 1 teaspoon of olive oil
– 1 diced Onion
– 1 teaspoon of Garlic(optional)
– 1/3 cup Dried Tomatoes
– 1 cup of Whole Wheat Bread Crumbs
– 1 Whole Eggs
– 1/2 cup of Parsley
– 1/4 cup of Low Fat Parmesan
– 1/4 cup Skim Milk
– Salt and Pepper
– 1 teaspoon of Oregano

Directions
1. Cook the Onion with Olive Oil separatly
2. Mix everything together in a big bowl, add the cooked oignons
3. Put the mix in a big pan
4. Bake at 375-400 F for about 30mins

The main points to focus on are the muscle types, functions, and characteristics.

Types of Muscle

There are three types of muscle. They are all important, but the main one you will probably be focusing on is the skeletal muscle. This is the muscle that is attached to the bone and moves your body. It is attached by things called tendons. Body builders spend most of their time making these stronger. The other two types of muscle are smooth and cardiac.

Smooth muscle is found inside the walls of your blood vessels, intestines, and others. The cardiac muscles control the heart. These two cannot be controlled; they do work involuntarily. But, in order to strengthen you skeletal muscles you must work them. They get worked when you move your body. So in order to make them grow it is important to know in which ways you should move your body.

Functions of Muscle

Muscles also have main functions that are very important to your body. It is important to keep your muscles strong so these functions will work properly. Their most important function is to move your body. Body motion is vital to keep this function working properly. Whether it is lifting, running, or just getting off the couch it is needed or else your muscles won’t function or grow properly. The next function of muscle is to maintain your posture, in other words keep you up straight.

Stronger muscles will help you keep a good posture. This is because they will be able to keep your body in the position it belongs helping you avoid injury. This is great for athletes and really anybody because as you get older you become more prone to injury. So, stronger muscle will help them function correctly making your life better and easier.

Characteristics of Muscle

Your muscles have many characteristics and understanding them can be very beneficial to discovering what is happening to them and what they are doing. The first characteristic is your muscles excitability. This is your muscle response to stimuli. Nervous impulses could be used as an example. This is important to know because when they do weird things you now know why and do not have to worry. The next characteristic is muscle contractibility.

This is when they shorten. An example could be when you flex your arm, your bicep contracts making it bigger. By contracting a muscle with resistance you will improve that its ability to contract, thus making it bigger. Muscle extensibility is the characteristic of stretching. An example can be when you do a straight leg stretch the feeling in the back of your legs.

This extensibility is the muscle stretching when pulled. With daily stretches you could obtain a better extensibility. The last characteristic is your muscles elasticity. This is when your muscle returns to its normal shape after being extended or contracted. All of these characteristics can help you better understand what your muscles are going through and help you improve them in size.
